About

The arts define what it means to be human. They shape culture, economy, and our sense of place. I have spent my career in the arts with a belief that an investment in the arts community is an investment in the entire community.

My passion is empowering artists to take leadership in their community.

The problem, as I saw it, was the absence of infrastructure that takes artists seriously as leaders, holds their work to financial discipline, and generates the evidence that turns a successful event into a permanent fixture of civic life. As founding Chair of the Duncanville Arts Commission, I worked alongside a committed group of community members and city leadership to build the governance framework that gave arts programming a formal seat in municipal decision-making. As Founding Executive Director of the Duncanville Arts Foundation, I designed the Cultural Investment Strategy, a framework that requires every program to prove its audience before it spends a dollar, puts artists in control of their own programming, and places the community in the front row of every decision.

That framework was built specifically for communities without established arts infrastructure, where historical data is scarce and structured measurement is the work. Having the opportunity to focus a lifetime of work in my own hometown is profoundly gratifying.

Areas of Focus
Venture Development Cultural Pipeline Design

Building the intake, validation, activation, and graduation infrastructure that moves arts programs from concept to sustainable commercial operation in underserved communities.

Cultural Policy Evidence-Based Advocacy

Generating the structured demand data that municipal bodies, economic development corporations, and institutional investors need to make informed cultural investment decisions.

Arts Advocacy & Philanthropy Community Empowerment

Equipping artists with the audience development, pricing, pre-sales, production, and financial management skills to lead their own cultural enterprises independently.

Current Work

I am currently engaged in the organization and launch of the Duncanville Arts Foundation, the first nonprofit arts foundation in Duncanville's history. That work includes establishing Arts Junction at 202 W. Center Street as the Foundation's primary activation venue, building the first cohort of incubated programs, and putting the Cultural Investment Strategy's validation and measurement systems into operation for the first time.

Every program that graduates produces a public record: documented evidence of local demand, spending behavior, and community participation that stakeholders and future investors can read for themselves. The Foundation operates on private capital and shares everything it learns with the public. Transparency is the Foundation's primary obligation to the community it serves.
