Community Arts Index
The Community Arts Index is a public research tool that asks Duncanville residents to evaluate a broad range of arts and cultural experiences that could be offered locally. Each concept describes the format, frequency, scale, and likely admission price of the experience.
Purpose
The Index helps the Duncanville Arts Foundation identify where cultural interest exists before committing resources to programs, projects, or infrastructure. It provides an early indication of which experiences residents may be willing to attend and support.
What It Measures
Residents rate how likely they would be to attend each experience within the next year. These responses allow the Foundation to compare interest across art forms, formats, and price points and identify concepts that warrant further study.
The Index measures stated interest, not actual purchasing behavior.
Role in the Cultural Interest Study
The Community Arts Index is an initial research component of the Cultural Interest Study.
Index → Test → Measure → Learn
Index results identify signals of interest. Selected concepts can then be tested through real-world cultural experiences, allowing the Foundation to compare what residents say they are interested in with what they actually attend, purchase, and support.
Together, these findings will help build a clearer picture of cultural demand in Duncanville.
