Featuring Denise Lee, award-winning singer, actress, and founder and executive director of Visions for Change. Her work brings together live performance, storytelling, and community dialogue.
Her performance honors include the Sammons Center for the Arts’ inaugural Cabaret Artist of the Year Award, multiple Leon Rabin Awards, multiple Dallas Voice Readers Voice Awards, Broadway Dallas’ Fullenwider Award, the Irma P. Hall Award for Theatrical Excellence, and a Special Citation from the DFW Theater Critics Forum.
Her community work has also earned the Rudy Eastman Diversity Award, the Hero of Hope Award, the Dale Hansen Ally of the Year Award, and the Texas Speech Communication Association’s Communicator of the Year Award.

After hours, Xela Bistro takes on a different rhythm. Chef Frances Villagran has created Xela Underground, an intimate speakeasy and musical dining club in Duncanville. It is a listening room where performers are close, songs have stories, and dinner is part of the occasion.
