About the Foundation

Developing a cultural industry for Duncanville.

The Duncanville Arts Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We use research, business planning, and staged growth to build cultural ventures.

Our purpose

Build ventures that can serve the city and grow.

We study local demand. We shape clear offers. We bring together artists, partners, places, and funds. We then help each tested venture reach its next stage.

oddspace is our core venture platform. Its temporary venues let the Foundation stay independent. We can move across Duncanville and match each venture with the right place.

Our work helps artists and grows the local market. It also builds useful facts about audiences, prices, places, costs, and repeat demand.

Leadership

Ron Thompson, Founding Executive Director

Ron Thompson

Founding Executive Director

Ron founded the Duncanville Arts Foundation. He first served as founding Chair of the Duncanville Arts Commission. There, he helped create the Duncanville Arts Fund. He also helped secure formal recognition of National Arts and Humanities Month and name the Armstrong Park Cultural District.

His work joins arts, investment, research, and community growth. He leads the Foundation’s work on market knowledge, partnerships, capital, and operations.

A durable platform

The Foundation must grow with the ventures it helps build.

The Foundation is building an earned revenue plan. Income may come from research, venture support, project management, shared tools, and advice.

This plan can make the platform stronger. It can also extend its value across Duncanville.

Organization

Independent. Local. Accountable.
